First waka

Originally there were no people in New Zealand . The first people to settle in New Zealand  came in a series of waka. The first ten waka were named:Kurahaupō, Tākitimu, Mataatua, Tainui, Te Arawa, Aotea, Tokomaru, Horouta, Uruao, Ārai-te-uru.

Most of the waka visited the North island. Some of the places the waka landed at were Takapaukura, Takou Bay and Kaipara Harbour.

The ten waka came to New Zealand to discover new lands for people to live.

Kiwi Sport

LI: to play a game and drill for Rippa.

Our coaches Yoana and Ice.

For Kiwi Sport we were doing one drill it was running. We had to run to the blue cone and pass the ball to the person behind you and pass it back then we run to the yellow cones and run like a zic zac after we run around the flag then pass to the person.

The game we played was the real game. When you are a red tagged you go to Ice if you are Green tagged you go to Yoana.

Listening

KiwiCan was about listening.

We played 'bop the cone' to practise listening for instructions.

We also played 'Chinese whispers' to practise listing and hearing information.

I thought about 'bop the cone' it was good for our listening skills.

Yesterday we did ripper ruby. The first team was lion. The other team was T-Rex. We  had to go to one teacher at a time. The first game was bull rush. The tagger was Wairaka she tagged seven people. Time to go to the other person.

Then we played invisible touch. Our team were losing. The other team was winning. Then my team took the lead then we won. Then it was time to go and play ripper rugby. lions vs T-Rex the lions scored the first try.

The second game the T-Rex won. Third round then it was a tie. Two more game and it all over. Then it was a timeout because the lions and the T-rex. Were about to get in a fight. So we took a rest and have a drink of water. Then it was time to go back to school.

Explorer and Adventurer

Explorere and Adventurers are people who travel and discover new things.

Explorers are people who travels to find new things and record them for commenty such as Sylvia Earle.

Adventurers are people who travels to take part in something for themselves, such as Jeremy Clarkson

Explorers and Adventurers need to have or show many different attitude, such as Risk-Taker it means a person that take a huge risk. The importance of a risk-taker is having the skill to be brave.

Both explorers & Adventurers travel to new places and need similar qualities although their goals are different.
